Gerber Applegate Fairbairn - pocket clip options?

Just acquired an old school Gerber Applegate Fairbairn combat folder. This is the big one, with the 4.5" blade.

I have a belt pouch for it, but was wondering if anyone made a pocket clip that would work? Are any aftermarket clip options available? I see there are some newer editions of this knife in different sizes and they have pocket clips standard --- could one of those clips be adapted to work?

Thanks in advance for sharing your expertise here!

I have the same folder. A few years ago I contacted Gerber about the possibility of adding a pocket clip. They said the knife had been made in such a way that it wasn't possible to install a clip. I'd be great if someone figured out a way.

Did they say why it wasn't possible? It already has holes tapped on each side and each end, would be very easy to add a clip with proper hole spacing and the right screw length...

Anyone have pics of both and try moving the clip from one to the other? Online images don't help me there, but I did find this post: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...bat-Anniversary-Edition?p=9485620#post9485620

...I decided that I'd like the pocket clip for my original 1st Production AF Combat so I harvested it and it fits my 1st production AF Combat better then the anniversary...

You could sew a piece of velcro to the inside of your pocket and then glue the opposing strip onto the knife.... Then there's always the duct tape option. ;)

If you find one, you have to sell it back!
