Hi guys and gals,

Does anyone know if Gerber ever had a version of the Blackie Collins dive knife manufactured in Italy? I recently aquired a "Geber" knife that is identical in form to my made in USA Blackie Collins, except on the rear of the knife it is stamped "Italy" instead of Portland, Or., with no patent number, and the letters in "Gerber" on the front of the knife are slightly larger and skinnier than on my original. Overall the knife appears very well made. Is this a legit import or this juts a really well made knock off? Thanks!

Its legit. I have almost every version of that knife, most with original Gerber boxes. Some of the differences between the US model and the Italian model are where they start/stop serrations. I hope this helps.

I have a USA made one. I read some where they are some what rare?? True or are there plenty out there?
