I picked up a Gerber FAST Draw serrated blade a few days ago at my local WalMart while doing some shopping. I had read some reviews of it via YouTube, etc.
My review:
Blade: Fair, needed sharpening out of the box which I expected with a Gerber.
Assisted Opening Action: Great!! I clicks as you set it back into battery but flies out. Many youtubers remarked about this being a great reliable feature of the blade. "Seems" like a decent design. Safety present. That is a little rough but it will do for the price.
Handle: Fiberglass. It is textured but does not grab your hand.
Clip: Easy on and off....not too tight
Overall: A great blade for under $30. It is very thin! Couple that with the 3" blade and it is a nice little blade that will be in my EDC rotation. I compare it is size/usage with a Benchmade Mini Griptilian. I am not saying it is on par with the Benchmade...but at more than 1/2 the cost savings...it demands your attention. This is a good everyday slicer/beater that could handle most basic tasks. It could be pressed into a defense mode if needed....nice blade shape for slash or stab/plunge motions. Weight is nice and easy to clip and wear all day long...you won't notice it.
Gerber's don't get much love in BF. They do have some niche' blades and shapes that appeal to me though over say a Kershaw (pleasing to my eye, etc). Their price range makes the well worth the try.
