Gerber Folding Axe!

Gerber have launched a folding axe which they've called the Kick Axe {yes, really!}.

If you love multiple pivot points and a folding head on your axe, then this is the axe for you!

Guess I'll be keeping my GB Mini.....

The little horror can be seen on this link!

Image two reminds me of the Magpul!
Well I'll certainly be intrigued to read the reviews that some of you all will most certainly do! :D Tagged for later.

Gerber really takes the low road.

Bonus: Splitting for morons:

I won't be picking up this one. I'm sure 'someone' will decide to design some fighting system around this. Oh well.

Ravaillac and Dwight, I pretty much feel the same way, but am not sure it came across right in my post above. I meant that while I'm not interested in getting one, I'd sure be interested in reading what someone who did get one has to say about it. I think this thing will end up getting someone hurt.

NatGeo endorsed it, but then again NatGeo is a bunch of granola munching hippies that think the CRKT Kiss is a suitable knife for the woods.
I can't imagine the amount of dead idiot backpackers will be found with one of these broken in their backpack.
Wait, most idiot backpackers don't even know how to use a hatchet or knife for that manner.

I'll stick with my trusty Swedes.

Wouldn't mind trying it out though if someone wants to donate.

Lengthy and heated thread on that over in WS&S a few weeks ago.

I assume they feel that look with appeal to gadget guys. I admit that it looks cool but I am skeptical about it holding up to consistent use---even on smaller stuff.

Makes me curious.
At first, I have to wonder what gave them the idea to fold a hatchet. Second, I'd like to see how it handles and performs.

Considering that even traditional axe designs can break, I'm curious how much this Gerber can take before breaking.

Tim Leatherman made quite a fortune with his folding multi-tools so perhaps some inventors believe they'll get rich by folding other implements, like axes. Good luck to them but I wouldn't try this tool unless someone gave it to me.
