Anyone have any comparative knowledge with these?

I like both. I like the handle of the Gerber more, but the blade grind/profile of the Ganzo a little more.

In terms of mechanics and style they look almost identical save the scales.

Microtech F47 (ok... not a Microtech... I was going off the description of a video. Sorry)

THAT, sir, is NO Microtech! It's a Chinese fake. No firsthand info on the others.

By the way if that Gerber is being sold on the same Chinese/Hong Kong website as that Ganzo, I would not trust that being a real Gerber either.

I owned that Gerber. It is dangerous. The spine above the lock is soft plastic. It has a couple small tabs to hold the lock in place. Mine failed immediately with almost no usage. It has approximately 30° of vertical blade play. Do not buy a Gerber Remix.

Really? Not that I've scoured the internet, but that's the first I've heard of that. I would think if that was a common issue they'd have addressed it.

Edit to add:

I just looked at pictures and realized there appears to be two different versions of this knife. One is a liner lock and one is a whatever that is kind of lock (slide?).
Just watched this video as well... the slide lock is the Gen 1

Which one were you talking about being dangerous?

The Remix's first Generation was a poor excuse for a knife if you ask me. Handled one with the slide lock and one with a liner lock at a Turner's Outdoorsman and the difference is that
the liner lock is solid while the slide lock folded when I pressed my thumb on the spine to see how it felt in the hand.
I'd go with the Ganzo one, for some reason even though Ganzo is probably the original equipment manufacturer(OEM) that makes that Gerber, I still feel it is better quality.
I paused at that thread title thinking that were was a Microtech that had a finger hole similar to the Remix and was expecting to see something I've never heard of before.:D

I was referring to the slide lock version. If you handle it you will be able to see the weak point I said was dangerous. Its very poorly designed. I loved that knife until it broke.

There's a reason they changed the lock design. Not coincidence.

The Gerber has mystery steel. The Ganzo has a popularly disliked country of origin. The...third one is...just no.
If you like the looks, pick one for looks. If you are choosing based on quality, look at different knives.

I've never had any major issues with Gerber. I still have a Gator I bought probably 15 or more years ago.
I didn't know they were made in China until recently though.

So Ganzo is actually equal in quality or better?
I"ll have to change the title about the Microtech... I was just going by the title of this dipshit's video.

My Remix was clearly marked 440C and had kept a great edge. It came shaving sharp. I would pass on them all, though.
