I sent my old multi-tool back to Gerber for repair or replace. I hope you all had positive experiences with them!! :o My Gerber was issued to me in the ARMY back in 1995 (ish). All these years it has been great, but I stripped my Phillips screw driver on a rusted screw the other day. :grumpy:
How long should I expect to wait?

My experience with Gerber customer service has been very positive.
I bet they will take good care of you.

I don't at all like the products of theirs I've experienced but when I needed warranty service [replacement] I had the replacement knife back in under 2 weeks but had zero communication from gerber.

I had a great experience with gerbers warranty. I admitted to abuse, and tried to purchase parts, and they wouldn't sell, but insisted that they warranty it.

One thing that may happen in your case, as it did in mine, is that they may not make the same multi tool that you turned in anymore, so they will give you a newer model. They did mark my old one and send it back with the new one though.

I requested parts, and was sent 2 different full sets of small parts, both received within 2 weeks. Good luck, enjoy your gerber, as many 'round here do not.

Mine was issued to me in the ARMY back in the 90's. That thing kept our tank rolling many times! I was old, but still looked brand new.

You might want to contact them and make sure they're aware you want the original back. With Buck at least when my X-Tract malfunctioned they sent me an entirely new one. If it's sentimental to you I'd assume you just want it repaired vs. completely replaced.

They did ask about that in the reply email. Told me exactly what to do. It doesn't really matter to me. I have plenty of "reminders" from my time in the desert!! :D

Then there you have it. They might keep the pouch if you ask. I have http://www.ebay.com/itm/NTSA-GERBER-400-U-S-A-MULTI-PLIERS-NEEDLENOSE-TOOL-/380703895646 that I bought back in 2002 or so. Still works as good as it always has. It's retired as I use my swisschamp for EDC but I used it for a while when my Buck Xtract died.

If my gerber died i'm not sure what they'd send me

Mine was more like this one...... But almost perfect condition.

I received my multi-tool back with a letter that said..."Your new tool will be shipped from our TN warehouse". Mine was too old I guess. They X ed it and sent it back.

Sent my old multi tool back on 9/22 and received a new blunt nose 600 today!

Thank you Gerber!!

Nice report. I haven't had to use Gerber warranty service but good to know that not only did they send you a new one, they separately returned you your old one. Very nice.
