Looking for a new carry pistol and was taking a long look at Glock. While reading up, noticed you can purchase a conversion barrel kit for .40 to 9mm. Appeals to me for obvious reasons, but I was wondering about reliability. Any issues with ammo feeding? etc? Do you guys have any experience with them?

Thanks!

That's what I did with my model 23. Bought a Lone Wolf bbl from .40 to 9mm, I've had no extractor or other issues but I've only got 350 rnds thru with the conversion in.

I also have a lone wolf conversion barrel to shoot 9mm out of my 40 (G23).
It has been flawless with 9mm mags, no other changes to the gun. I’ve even ran it suppressed and it’s perfect.
In case you didn’t know, you can also run 357 sig conversion barrels in the 40’s a too.

9mm is fine with me but 40 is where it’s at. That said, shooting 9mm for what people were paying for .22 a year ago is really nice.

I have a Glock Store Double Diamond stainless 9mm conversion barrel in my Gen 4 Glock 22 and it is my best shooting most consistent and most accurate firearm.

I am not sure why but I am guessing that when using the same speer gold dot 147grain across all of my 9mm pistols, the rifling on the conversion barrel might be a little better and the barrel itself is thicker because its inner diameter fits 9mm but its outer diameter is obviously .40.

You probably also know that due to the conversion barrel’s design you dont need to change any other internal parts except for the use of designated 9mm magazines (.40 magazines however do work albeit unreliably)

There are no Gen 5 .40s to my knowledge. There has been a paradigm shift back to 9mm due to advances in ammo ballistics

I have run conversion barrels for years without an issue. I use it for competition where .40 cost more and is more snappy than 9mm
