As I understand it, this is a fan-made trailer for the upcoming reboot of The Godfather, to star Johnny Depp. The Mario Puzo estate (meaning his kids) must be desperate for cash. Assuming this is real, which is doubtful.

Just what we need... let's dig up another classic for a remake and shit all over it.

The Godfather needs a remake? No. No it does not. Especially not with Johnny F’n Depp.:rolleyes::rolleyes:

There have been a lot of remakes of movies that didn’t need to be “remade” here lately and none are better than the originals.

At this point they’re even making remakes of sh!t like “wrong turn”. Got to be kidding me.

They should remake Tarzan of the Apes. It has been done many dozens of times and none have come anywhere close to honoring Burrough’s original book. But, if they are going to take a shot at it they should aim for an R rating to keep it gritty and realistic. I would like it to be a period adventure fantasy focused on survival with a main character that grows harder and darker with every challenge. If the lions keep their distance, it is not because of Tarzan‘s English nobility, it is because they know he is a clever, brutal and dangerous savage.

Just the opening picture looks like some AI generated image. Someone probably used one of them to make a trailer with their ideal cast. Have seen a few of those before.

I used to think of my own fantasy casts for remakes a long time ago, like Jackie Chan to play Charlie Chan, with Chris Tucker as Birmingham Brown. My A-Team casting (we are talking years ago when these actors were younger) was Tommy Lee Jones as Hannibal Smith, John Stamos as Templeton Peck, Jim Carrey as Howling Mad Murdock, and Michael Clark Duncan as B. A. Baracus. Bruce Campbell, back in the day, would have made a great Colonel Robert Hogan, and the guy who played against him in Jack of All Trades would have been a good Colonel Wilhelm Klink for a Hogan's Heroes remake.

The original holds up just fine. A remake serves no purpose fitz.gif
Johnny Depp should make another pirate movie. He's good at those. 🏴‍☠️
