Schrade makes a solid bolo machete for around $45. I have the kuri one they offer and it's a surprisingly well designed strong chopper. I haven't experienced any edge chipping or rolling and holds an edge well.

The Tramontina Bolo Machete is a 14" machete and considered by many to be very useful..... just 2" longer blade length.

I couldn't find the Condor at their website. Discontinued? 42 Blades would know....

Benchmade makes an affordable Jungle Bolo. And Bark River has a series of Grasso Bolo models in 3 different sizes (I, II, and III) - a bit more money, but they're really well made. Worth a look, IMHO.

I wouldn't exactly call the Benchmade a machete...nor the Bark River either. The latter is really more of an ethnic inspired chopping knife.

Tramonita makes a bolo, one that I've even seen at Baronyx (and been tempted to get). I have no idea about it from any personal experience, but if it's as good as their Latin machetes that I own and use, it'll be a real workhorse and WELL under your $100 budget (think like buying 6 or 7 of them for that price).
