I am close to getting an AR and one of the few things that I am planning to put on my AR is a vertical fore grip and just want to know what you guys have had good luck with. I know that there isn't one that will improve accuracy or any thing like that but what have you found to be the best for ergonomics. A friend of my brothers has just gotten back from Afghan and has a bipod fore grip that he would sell for $30.

Also the AR that I am getting is the S&W M&P 15 MOE and also I am looking for 1913 Picatinny rail sections one to put the grip on and then another to put a flashlight mount and flashlight.

Just a thought.... if it is your first AR you may want to hang back, put the $30 into a few more rounds of ammo before pimping it out with a foregrip, bi-pod or m203.

I am going to do that and shoot it stock but was wanting to get suggestions as to what I might want to put on it when the time comes when I might put one on.

there ok... but i got tired of packin around a 12 pound ar.... when i could pack around a 12 pound 308...

the only plus i can say honestly for the bipod vfg is that .. it kept it outta the dirt kinda...and given that i now just use any vfg as a place holder.... i dropped it and the rails... but thats me.

I went with a Tango Down QD stubby on a Daniel Defense Omega rail.

I have tried vertical grips but find I shoot better with a plain forend.

I thought the same at first, but I do like the way the rifle feels in this position.

(This is not me BTW. It's a picture I found when I was researching vertical grips.)

This guy is using a stubby to anchor the rifle's forend and pull the gun back into his shoulder.
Feels more natural to me than gripping the rifle with only the vertical grip.
