I need a good all around knife for a biker that would be used as self defense and utility? Could be a small fixed blade or a sturdy folder? price from about 100-150

It would be a present for my brother so i need something that wouldn't be too hard to carry and hopefully looks cool

The Buck 110 was a biker standard for many years. Not sure what the preferred biker knife is now, but I'm sure it has to be American made.

When I ride, I like the Benchmade Rift or Spyderco Paramilitary 2. Both are a good size but sits well in the pocket when riding.

ZT-0200 would be stout, or 0350, both american made and in your price range. If it doesnt have to be american made Cold steel AK-47, Lawman, Spartan or Espada all fit the bill and are stong as hell. Have all but the espada and they are straight up tanks.

Small Fixed blade reccomendation would be a CRK professional soldier about 185 but you can occasionally find them for 150. USA made of course.
Becker Companion or eskabar are made in US but sheaths are imported dont know price off hand but i'd assume under 100 for either

Some of my favs are the gerber guadian, sog pentagon, bk11, hogue ex01 dp,BM grips . Bradley alias 1( cant find these new for your price but ive seen them used and bought mine used for 150.00) GOOD LUCK !

Buck 110; Would fit perfectly to a leatherjacket and the trousers.

The sheath is heavy-leather.

Very sturdy and durable folder. A hell of a knife.

Kind regards

I would think that an appropriate knife would have to be able to pierce leather and denim easily and still be able to make deep slashes.

I have a feeling he isn't talking about motorcycles.

Based on my guess it is a bicycle, I would think a serrated Spyderco Salt knife would be a good choice. Serrated because they are supposed to hold an edge significantly longer due to the steel being worked hardened. Or the Benchmade 111H2O which is also meant to go in the water.

Assuming we're talking about a pedal bike, I'd consider a small and light neck knife. I don't like anything in my pockets when pedaling. In fact, if he's REALLY into cycling, his cycle shorts may not even have pockets.

Machete. You would have to be stupid to mess with somebody with an obvious machete on their side (well more stupid than stupid enough to mug people).

If on a motorcycle I would think any folding knife that will clip to a pair of jeans would work just fine. I don't think riding a motorcycle would require anything specific in the knife department unless you are more into image than riding.
