I'm going to be in San Antonio over the weekend and part of next week and I'm really hoping they have some good knife stores. Google didn't do me any favors on this one so I'm hoping some of you may have some info. We don't have anything other than Gander Mountain and a new Bass Pro around here, so anything other than those would be neat to check out. While I'm asking questions anyway, does TX have favorable knife laws (allow autos, balis, etc.)? I've looked up a few gun ranges too and it looks like I'll probably try the Bullet Hole. Anyone been there? Any other must see attractions (other than the Alamo and the river walk) or places to eat? Thanks in advance for any info!!!

I shoot at the Bullet Hole, best place in San Antonio as far as public ranges go. Nagels gun shop has a very large knife section, from Strider, ZT, to custom Snody's, worth a visite. I havent looked for any other knife shops, but in the five years that I've lived here Nagels has the best selection that I've seen so far, and their close to the airport if your flying in.

We are flying in but I'll have a car as well. I am going to have to check out Nagels, I've never even seen a Strider and I've always wanted to check out a ZT03XX. Thanks for the info!

Let's just ignore the rules and post threads like this in General.

Nagles has a great selection, but their prices are high and their customer service is terrible. Every time ive gone they have refused to talk to me or even acknowledge me. The only reason i find myself there again and again is for some of the older discontinued models that i cant find any where else. Bullet hole is top notch. As far as Texas knife laws, no balis or autos, and in san antonio the city has decided to outlaw all locking knives, although everyone seems to cary anyway.

Sorry, I'll have to read the rules more closely when I'm not on my phone, I didn't realize this wasn't the right forum or I wouldn't have posted here.

Knives Plus is in Amarillo, TX I believe, with a storefront.

San Antonio to Amarillo, per Google Maps, is about a 8-10 hour drive. All I can say is road trip :D.

Knife sharpest in north Austin, about 2 hours north. You never know what they will have, I have found some GREAT deals in there, on consignment. To awesome to mention here! sometimes..its just so so. Its a small shop, so don't get your hopes up on my account.
Check the weekend you will be there, if there is a gun and knife show in San Antonio the weekend you are there..there will be tons of great knives to choose from then. I think admission used to be $5.00. But I havn't gone in years.
