I'm in the market for a good quality but affordable hard case for long guns, including shotguns. I'm not looking to drop a lot of cash here, and I'm thinking under $50 is quite feasible from what I have seen. A one gun case is fine. A lot of options out there, but looks like a lot of them are crap, so I'd like to avoid that. It is going to be used primarily for transport on commercial airlines, so keep that in mind.

Thanks in advance.

have used a ton of high end aluminum cases and i have switched over to a Pelican polymer case

Great case maybe a little more than you want to spend but really a quality prouduct and you can never protect your gun to well bagage handlers are brutal on gun cases

Unless your gun costs less than $100 I wouldn't even consider spending only $50 to ship it. Nothing ruins a trip worse than a broken firearm. Be smart, spend the money once, and don't ever have this worry again. SKB or Pelican type cases are the way to go.

Yes on this one they cost a little more but well worth it imho. ;)

I've used SKB single rifle cases for years with no problems. Several shooting friends swear by Pelican brand cases.

Always had the feeling that a determined BAGGAGE GORILLA could manage to destroy the best gun case made if they so desired however hasn't happened.....yet.

I have a Doskocil (sp?) hard case that was about $75 bucks that I think is pretty heavy duty, but I've never flown with it.

Been to Africa a few times, that tells the story on a good gun case, aluminum works for me , 3 key locking ,2 gun ,2 pad lockings, It will dent, but a good one around $100.00 and more, I have had them try to get in and 5 locker NOT.
I like the 2 gun , put your camera and knifes in it, cloths,a thick 2 gun heavy pad.. Worth the money saves the gun. The problem is ,,they throw them like your bags, for sure..

Pelican cases rock, the only ones on par but more costly are Hardigg cases
try to find one used they last forever
