Here's my set up:
I have a few acres of ground that I walk my dog on. Due to my schedule I walk him early (4:30-5:00 AM) and late ( for me) around 9-10PM. Mainly, depending on the time of the year, both are times of dark here in south central PA, USA. I am surrounded by woods on one side and rolling hills and farm fields on the other side of my property. So it's nice to have some throw in the beam. Plenty of wildlife around here to watch with the godkids and the mutt after dark. :)

I currectly use a Streamlight Ultra Stinger. Highly recommended. This light gets a good work out EVERYDAY. The dog needs to go out everyday, the Streamlight goes on everyday. The walks normally last between 20 & 45 minutes each. The beam is bright and the charge lasts about an hour. Since I've owned it it's averaged needing a new bulb a year. Other then that, no problems at all.

I love this light but I was wondering if there is anything else comparable or better out there since the Ultra Stinger was released. Maybe something in an LED so I could get away with replacing bulbs?

Much appreciated!

I too have acreage and understand what your saying. I don't mind not using rechargeable batteries since I get pretty good run times with primary cells.
Many folks, (myself included) think the Mag 3 cell LED light is pretty respectable for run time, brightness and throw. A little more runtime, slightly less brightness and throw would be a 4 cell.

My three most used lights are:

Elektrolumens Anglelux with Lux III (he's got new ones using Cree's, brighter than mine and longer run times too) http://elektrolumens.com/AngleLux/AngleLux.html

Mag 3D LED
Gerber Infinity Ultra
Old Arc AAA

Yep, there are better lights out there, but these work for me. Besides, I didn't say these were my only lights either. ;)

I've had great luck with the Princeton Impact flashlights, CHEAP!, long battery life. No special batteries required, and still much brighter than any "normal" flashlight. Even though it's not "super tactical" bright, it's a great light!
Most of the other ones recommend, I think have aluminum bodies, so that's why this one is a lot less.
Inovas are really great too!
