Good sunglasses for "big head"

This post might be kinda hard to follow, but I would be grateful if I got some help. I searched the forums on the subject and the Serengeti Aviator might be the answer, the problem is I can't try them and I don't know if they are wide enough.
The sunglasses that I currently wear ($20 nonames) look good, fit me just right but they distort the viewfield and give me light headakes when driving for more then an hour. I have very good vision (thank God) and I am really worried it could degrade because of these sunglases. It means I started hunting for a new pair. I visited a couple of optics shops arround here, but didn't find nothing. The reasons are:

1. I have a relatively big head, 60cm (23 1/2") for the hat size, oval face almost round.
2. Most recent "unisex" sunglasses make me look like a dork.
3. Many of the sunglasses are not wide enough.
4. Most of the lenses are not big enough to cover the eye properly.
5. The models I really wanted to try (like the aviator Serengeti gradient drivers) are obviously not in stock.

I use the sunglasses mainly while driving.
Could you please point me to a model that has:
- fairly big (wide frame and medium to big lens size)
- good optics (no bloody distortion)
- relatively good assembly and overal quality
- not too ugly, if they look nice it's a plus
- reasonably priced, an absolute max would be $150, under $100 is even better.

Thanks for reading it.

Ha...me too. One size fits all hats almost never do, for me. Most sunglasses either don't fit me, or look like "crap" on me. I can recommend the Gargoyle Classics. The pilot/aviator sunglasses come in different lens sizes. Search on American Optical Pilot. Think they come in 3 sizes.

I don't know what size head he has but Clyde likes his Dale Earnhardt, Jr. shades.

Glad, the dog from my avatar, had a big head, about 30" "hat size". He would have needed huge sunglasses. Unfortunately he died last year. :(

For that classic look, Rayban wayfarer II's.

Upscale, Revo makes glasses that'll fit the biggest melon.

Thanks to flava for posting this topic and thanks to all you watermelon-heads for the excellent suggestions. I've also been looking for shades that will fit my bucket head and I'm sure I'll find something now.

Oakley M-frames for my big melon.

Damn Sean, you must have a realllly big melon... (in my best Dad from "So I married an axe murder" voice... HEED) :D

i would not get the m-frames they are just not practical in my mind. a pair of the half jackets would be good a little pricey $160.00

x-metals are expensive also.

what about a pair of oakley minutes, or un-knowns(my shades :) )

I have the same problem. My wife is in the optical industry and she recommends bolle. I wear the Piraja and Coachwhip from them. They are the onlly glasses I have found that look good on me.

Thank you all for the sugestions. I'll let you know here what I got. I'll post a pic of the shaded melon
