Im interested in putting new scales and a backspacer on my pm2 also doing a copper wash on it. I need a torx driver to take it apart, So what would you recommend?

Wiha, snap-on...just don't cheap out on this or as it strips out ya stuff, you'll fling that bit across the room, knock down your favorite clock onto your sleeping dog & while you're ducking so it doesn't take your eye out, you bring down all your tools by grabbing the cloth they were resting on cuz you fell off your chair.

Wiha is the most common name but not the only one just make sure you get quality hardened torx tools.

Wiha. I have the long L T6-T20 set, all I’ve ever needed. They make drivers and everything else though if you want something different .

I have a Mac tools set that's really nice. I also have a Kobalt set from Lowe's that works just as well and was mabey $20. It can be a crapshoot going cheap though.

Wiha...wiha wiha ,wiha......I like how the last few posters recommended
^^^ that brand , I was about to recomend that one to you too, OP.:D

I just use a cheap torx bit set that I bought at Harbor Freight for around $7-8.

I have a set from Griot's Garage that has 113 different bits, some of which I've never seen before (weird tamper-proof stuff). Anyway, the T6 bit broke, and I tried a few replacements from eBay, but none fit as well as the original. Didn't try Wiha though, so maybe I'll do that.

Dude- Do yourself a favor and read Dogdrawz response aboveo_O.

The battle to death was Kobalt vs the dreaded PM2 pivot screw.
Torx screw w/ red loctite: 1
Kobalt torx bit: 0

Additional question is what sizes to get? 6 - 10, a 12 and 15 cover 90 percent of knives?

Wiha are reasonably priced and good quailty ... I prefer the bits and different drivers depending on use ....I prefer the short or stubby drivers for most knives ... longer drivers for other uses ...

Wera also makes a nice short handled ratcheting driver I use alot ...

Snap On should be good to but will cost more.

No matter what you get be sure the bit is seated fully and you should be good ... a bit of rushing and it can be a headache.

I picked up the Wiha torx T1-T8 for something like 30 bucks shipped priority on the big river site. They have worked very well for all my folding knives so far. With the exception of CRK (I use their supplied allen wrenches).
