Good wood handle knife that is classy as a gift

I recently made a friend who once I got to talking about his watch and my knives, he mentioned he switches it out every day, was like, I do the same with my knives!

Anyways he offered a watch to me at some point, asked me what I like and I referred to the classic look, elegant and such because I am currently rocking just a G-shok

I offered him a knife, asked what he likes, and wood handles + elegance/timelessness/classic vibe to it. I do not want to give some crazy super steel, but a good and beautiful starter knife.

My mind keeps drifting to the Opinel in Walnut, the 6 or the 8, probably. Lionsteel Gitano also passed my mind, but was afraid the strong slipjoint spring would be a hassle. Anyone got any additional ideas to consider? Thanks

Again, seeking a relatively easy to sharpen steel, wood handles and a classic, elegant look.

Oh and I intend to throw in a SAK, just like a Classic or something.

The Buck 110 is about as classic and iconic as you can get. It is pretty large and heavy, though. Maybe a traditional lockback like a hunter or Lanny's clip pattern with wood covers would be a good choice. Rough Ryder Reserve is really good for the price but they're mostly micarta; you could look for a deadstock Queen / Schatt and Morgan too.

qsp hawk - with 14c28n & mkuruti wood - simple and classy look imho but with more modern amenities
also, 3.7 oz vs buck 110 which is 7.2 oz

This Christmas, our former-Marine son will get (among other things) a folding knife with Rosewood handle scales tht match his 1911 .45 ACP pistol. For Father's Day or maybe his next Birthday, he will get matching sets of wooden grips with the USMC logo for both the knife and pistol.

The concept is to give something that I can suggest a follow-on gift for another time. A follow-on gift after a k nife might be a sharpening set. I like the Lansky system, but there are others.

This Christmas I got my wife (among other things) a designer branded cosmetics case for traveling. For Valentine's Day she will get a small piece of jewelry. Her birthday comes a few weeks later on and she will get a small traveling jewelry case from the same designer brand.

Anything for you in this idea?

First, you want a folder. Second, you want something traditional. And third you want something that doesn't look cheap. Opinel ain't going to cut it. Buck looks like you work in a gas station. Go with something classic. The following are just a type, not a specific, because they're classic enough you can't buy one at 7-11 in the Jarbenza jug. Be a good friend.
