Goose neck lamps!

Thanks for sharing! But those aren't bright enough for me ... I use the 150 watt exterior flood light led's in moffatt goose necks and they are amazing.
Are you still using the 150W exterior flood light in your Moffatt goose neck task light? I just got mine to day but it is without a light. I have bought a few other gooseneck lights in the past couple years but this one looks awesome and can't wait to see what a light in it can do. Thank you for the recommendation!

Yep I use: Hykolity Outdoor Led Flood Light, Waterproof PAR38 LED Bulb, Dimmable, 15W=150W, 5000K Daylight, 1600lm, E26 Base, UL Listed (6 Pack)

I will try these out in my Moffatt too, Thanks.
The gooseneck is highest quality. FYI, I bought the version with the clamp. The clamp came unattached as is basically the direct mount version that you screw to the clamp. There is another version called the "coupler mount". The problem I read with the coupler mount is that you need to affix it to a horizontal surface. If you mount it to the vertical surface the gooseneck can swivel.

ok guys try a sewing machine gooseneck lamp.. they come in many lengths
and take a E-26/E27 bulb.. use your favorite LED bulb and enjoy..
i have Gooseneck lamps all over.. 4 above my main belt grinder. 2 on my other belt grinder
2where i assemble and work on things. 1 on the lathe, 1on each bandsaw... no such thing as too much light..
plus8 4 foot led "Florescent" type lights on the celling..

I find the PAR16 and PAR20 sizes easier to work around than the large PAR38. The PAR16 is 2" and the PAR20 is 2.5". PAR38 is 4.75" across. The smaller size allows them to be placed closer to the work and does not have as much side-beam light to get in your eyes. I use them at 7W (75W equivalent), 120° beam, 5000K.

A PAR16 7W bulb at 6" sheds the same amount of light on the grinder platen as a PAR38 15W bulb at 12". A PAR20 7W at 6" sheds 130% the light as a PAR38 at 12". It has to do with the lumens available vs the rule off inverse square.

My Moffatt light, the switch broke somehow. Only way to turn it on or off is to unscrew the bulb. Any ideas?

I just got them they are too big for the Moffatt light. These are like 4.75" wide (at the lens). And the opening of the Moffatt light is about 3.5"

This is what I got as per above recomendation. Need to figure out the right size 🧐

Off the Moffatt website I think I might need to use "A16"? Whatever that designation means.

Edit: still searching and still don't quite understand the sizing. But, I think the Moffatt needs a “PAR20” or "PAR30 Short", if you want a focused beam "Flood Lamp" type bulb.

But look at the ad before you buy as some of the "PAR30 Short" are saying 3.75" wide at the lens 🤔 If anyone has used the PAR30-Short please chime in. From my searching on Amazon I see some saying that the PAR30-Short is 3.75" wide at the lens and that won't work.

From my research there are these sizes...
Bulb Shape
Bulb Size
PAR203.50" x 2.50"
PAR30 Short3.50" x 3.75"
PAR30 Long4.50" x 3.75"
PAR385.00" x 4.75"

I'd unscrew some screws, replace the switch, dijikey, Mouser and other electrical suppliers, maybe even direct from the lamp maker.

I often plug lights like that into a $5 power bar
Two lights one switch, wear out that switch, easy to replace.
