Got an Ontario Spec 101

I got the Ontario Spec 101 fixed blade I ordered. Brigade Quartermasters listed them for $12.99, usually ~$25. I had a free shipping code, so I figured that I had nothing to loose. It's got a 4" to 4.125" blade by AKTI standards. Full tang construction, G10 scales. Spearpoint blade. The edged portion of the blade is 3.75" which is good for me- if I want to carry it when I'm not hunting or fishing it needs to be 4" or less. It's very solid, and comes pretty sharp from the factory. Chinese made, but I know it was imported going into the transaction. I'm yet to take the knife out, but so far I'm impressed with it. The major downer is the sheath. It's a nylon web rig with a plastic lined. Simple strap for the handle. I intend on finding a better sheath for it in due time. I've got an idea of what I'm looking for, but I'm going to wait until something used pops up. I intend of making a 550 lanyard for it in the coming future. I'm happy that I bought this knife. It seems like it will hold up well, and weighs in at ~8 ounces. For a long time, it seems like sub-4" tacticool fixed blades were neglected by the mass producers, so this is one more piece that I have to choose from.

That is a nice looking knife. Do you know what stainless steel was used? What is the blade thickness? I'd say you got a great buy on it!

I don't know what the steel is. It's nothing special, I bet in the 420 or 440 series or a low AUS. The blade is 4mm thick from the butt until the begining of the false edge, measuring the top width. The false edge quickly makes its way from 4mm down to 2mm at the beginning and progressively to a point at the end.The tip comes in at about .5mm. I am not counting the meat left in the middle of the blad below the the false redge. Definetely adds to the beefiness. The handle is 1.4CM thick.

I like the blade shape!! I handled one of these and it seemed like a solid knife... (whats not to be solid)... and you got a great price, the ones I saw were a little over 25$.
