I finally closed the deal on a custom I have been looking at for a few weeks on Windy City Knives owned by George and was interested in a couple different customs listed on the site. The site is very user friendly and the knives have very detailed descriptions along with several pics. I had a difficult time deciding between two different models of the same maker. I live just a couple hours south of George and asked him if we could meet in person so I could handle each knife to make a final decision. He was more than accommodating and we set a time to meet the following day at a local cigar shop in the Northwest Chicago Suburbs. The cigar shop was one of the nicest ones Ive ever been in. I used to be a cigar aficionado myself and have been in a few shops. I met George in the back area of the shop where his friends gave me a warm welcome. George and I spent a half and hour together talking knives and motorcycling. I made my final decision and am very pleased. I look forward to buying from George again. He has very close relationships with some very reputable makers. If you see something on windycityknives.com you like, buy in confidence. George is a very genuine guy with a lot of knowledge. Thanks for reading this! Jace

No he doesnt. But Im sure he would be happy to meet you in person with something you are interested in. We met in Libertyville today.

Yeah the only good brick and mortor store i know of and frequent is GPknives in Troy, IL (30 min North of St. Louis). But they are a ways from Chicago. They have some customs but mostly production stuff. Very nice shop and staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If you are looking for a higher end custom I would contact George at Windy City Knives.

Yeah they are a drive I will try him out thanks if I find a shop near the city I'll let ya know
