I was looking through the latest edition of Knives magazine the other day and read an article on an American-based company out of Germany who makes a G-10 handle replacement for the Benchmade Griptillian (if I can remember correctly I think they were called "Griptillaskinz" or something to that nature). I really liked the looks of the new handles and I am very interested in purchasing the kit, however I cannot find anywhere online as to where I can order one. If anyone has any idea as to what site I could go to or anything else that could steer me in the right direction it would be appreciated. Thanks!

They do look nice. Moore also sells them in aluminium grips whick are even more money. I just checked his site www.moorecutlery.com and he seems to have no trouble selling them. It would be nice if Benchmade would make them.

The price on those things is just way too high unless you're REALLY attached to the Griptilian design. That would bring the price up to the Gold Class level, in which case I'd get a different higher end production or even a custom knife. I don't blade anyone for getting one of them though, if you love the Grips that much, I say go for it.

Quality is top-notch and it brings the Griptillian up to a new level. Considering that the guts and blade are where the most cost to Benchmade is, the Zytel grips they use are pretty inexpensive. Look at the cost difference between the Griptillian and the higher end Axis lock knives, and the grips have a lot to do with it. I really like the difference they made on mine.

Mike, thanks for posting those pic's!

I take it your a fellow southpaw, and I had wanted to see these handles from the other: side :) to see if he recessed the grip for the thumbhole for southpaws also.

Kevin Wilkins IS a custom knife maker, and HE is the one who is making the upgraded scales to the Grip.

Wow, that knife is beatiful[refering to the oranged handled grip]. Price a bit too steep for me though.

Took me a couple of readings to get this. Pretty true: by the time you get the Griptilikan handle back, it pretty much is a custom knife.

A custom knife you can swap production blades on, for under $60.00 a blade!

Shoot! And I had just heard tell Griptillian was the ultimate badass...:D

Now I like that. . .but it makes me wish I hadn't got rid of my Grip. . .(didn't like the 'grip' on it.) C'est la vie.
