When making sheaths with medallions/chevrons it just occurred to me that maybe I should be grooving the 3 stitch lines on the insides of the sheaths so repeated deployments don't wear down the tiger thread? Does anyone else do this or am I just paranoid. I'm making one now so thanks in advance.

Oh yeah I do that myself. Or I line the inside with 2-3oz leather. But I’m still waaaaaaaay overbuilding and thinking leather craft lol.

I've never done it. But it certainly wouldn't hurt.

thanks Guys, can't hurt is good enough for me to start doing this on all internal threading including belt loops and tie straps. A few minutes is too small to worry about for peace of mind. Just wish I'd thought of it a lot sooner.

I hammer all internal stitching down with a highly polished ballpeen hammer. Sinks it in.
