Gryphon Knives may have been fairly expensive when they debuted, but the prices usually dropped with new manufacturing runs. And these days the M-10 is an outright bargain. In my experience, Jeff Loffer has always given his customers good value for their money.
Gryphon Knives are still one of the best ways to own a Terzuola fixed-blade design. Back when Camillus was alive and well, the CQBs were strong competitors with the Gryphons, with the added benefit of being American made. Meyerco's CQB versions also were pretty good, though they weren't around very long and the sheaths were lousy (at least on mine). MKM's Jouf was nicely done, though it too was short-lived and should have come with a Kydex sheath.
Of all the manufactured versions of Bob's fighting knife designs, Gryphon has the best construction quality and attention to detail. The M-30A1 is an exceptional fighting knife; I wish Jeff would bring it back. The M-10 is one of my favorite knives, and probably THE favorite in that size. In addition to being beautiful, it's incredibly versatile.
