Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Dog training this morning, hope all Guardians have a great day.

Nicely worded, Preston!
Your photo "quacked" me up!:D(ok, I went for the low hanging fruit ). But great Team photo, Ducks and Lambs!
Not low hanging fruit at all, Dennis...mighty clever! Epic multi-quote post. Hope your health is as good as is your wit.
It is some incredible ebony, Preston!:) Nicely photographed!
Thank you
Morning Guardians, I'm just on the train zipping over to Sheffield to meet @donn :) The weather is a bit rotten, particularly for July, but I'm sure we'll have a great day, with plenty of Lambsfoot content, and a pint or two ;)

Thanks for all the great posts Guardians, looks like I'm going to have a lot of catching up to do when I get back! :D
You and David have a fun time!
I hope these latest pictures give Jack some sweet dreams!!View attachment 1158342
I'd love to ride herd on that flock! Superb:thumbsup:
I've fallen behind, and have neglected to thank a couple of gentlemen. I recieved a package from Charlie last week, and reflects even more of the generosity and caliber of folks here! When I opened the package, I was floored, and not sure if I can ever repay them for their generosity and thoughtfulness! The package contained the wonder horn lamb below, and a Case Whittler.
So to Charlie and Jack, thank you, thank you, thank you!! I'm still walking around with a goofy grin on my face, and was definitely a major boot to my moral and mental state!

So, here's Big'un!

Guardians are the best of the best...I'm floored by the caring and thoughtfulness of the people here. If only the world was made up of Guardians!

Well, I missed out on Charlie's great Lambsfoot SFO. What's a guy to do? I went out and found this Venture online. It was quite the jalopy, broken covers, sprung spring, etc. I put some nice NOS bone on it, and it's quite serviceable now.

Very nice bone, Glenn. Always enjoy seeing your fine craftsmanship!

Good morning Guardians. I was searching for something this morning and came across this excellent post by @Cambertree speculating on the origins of the Lambsfoot shape and why its popularity did not immediately spread abroad. I thoroughly enjoyed re-reading it and recommend it for your (re)reading pleasure.
Greg, thanks so much for bringing that post back. I enjoyed reading it, again. Always a pleasure to read one of @Cambertree posts. Same goes for your posts, my friend.

...........You're right, Mark, especially about the stag on that wonderful HHB.
About what's allowed and what's not...
Frank and Gary do a marvelous job!!! Kudos to them! .............
I carry and Lambsfoot because...

...it makes everything 'just ducky'

Nice job, neat that you have those kind of skills!
Thanks for the compliments on my Stag HHB, Preston!
I agree that Frank and Gary are the right men for the job. I hope none of my comments even hinted otherwise.
Great shot of your Ironwood and jigged bone Waynorth as well as a neat collection of ducky items. I would love to leaf through that Duck stamp print book!

Amen! :D
.............Mark I couldn’t agree more with your post sir! I also agree on your Hartshead being some fantastic stag!:D

That looks great my friend! Very nice bone! Welcome to the Guardians! Your work on the Lambsfoot pattern has been well represented here. Dylan’s @Pàdruig Red Jigged Bone medium Lambsfoot and my Ironwood Bigun have both gathered many likes and compliments! :)

Look at this Roma tomato I had for breakfast and you’ll know at least one reason why I CARRY A LAMBSFOOT! ;) I hope all of you Guardians have a great day! :D

Thanks for the support, Ron and nice words about my Hartshead. You're absolutely right about yours and Dylans "Glennbad rehandles", both are very . Great breakfast pic! That little Roma had my mouth watering!:)

Over the past few years, I’ve started my day by opening this thread. Indeed, over the past few months, I’ve done so out of necessity, even getting up early, so that I can stay caught up with it. It’s usually a nice way to start the day, but I didn’t think that when I logged on today. I’ve got a lot on this week, and I really would have preferred to have started it in a better way. All of us are grown-ups here, and with the exception of Gary (@Peregrin), who posts here from time to time, we’re all ordinary posters, and there’s nothing most of us dislike more than having to pull up other members about the contents of their posts. Personally, I more than dislike it, it makes me angry to have to do so. We’ve had some great off-topic discussions here in the past, but they can’t be the focus of the thread, otherwise one day, the thread will be locked and/or half the posts will have been moved to the Lounge. If you want to see this thread continue, please rein in your off-topic posts, and post more Lambsfoot content. I’m getting way past tired of seeing patterns that aren’t Lambsfoot knives posted here, so please let’s not see any more of it (and please think twice before you ‘like’ such posts) If you have not already done so, please go and read this, and if you think you have posts which need to be edited, please edit them soon.

One more thing, I know I’m as much to blame for this as anyone, but I think the anti-vegan posts are getting out of hand. I want people to feel welcome here, irrespective of their diet, so long as they want to post about the Lambsfoot pattern.

Thank you to those who post here responsibly, and try to maintain the integrity of the thread (a collective responsibility). I don’t want to have to close this thread, but things have got to improve here.

Jack
Well put, Jack. I find it fairly easy to have lambfoot content and a side of conversation. I enjoy both immensely, but agree with the knife content with each post premise.
Thanks for reminding us that everyone should feel welcome to post here, so long as it involves the love of the Lambsfoot.

Good morning, Guardians, and Jack, I'm fervently hoping yours improves.

Great photo, Jeff. I'm amazed how similar the mark side Stag is between yours, mine and paulhilborn paulhilborn .

Now that my wife and I are getting settled in we took a short road trip around the area. I took advantage of a fence post to show off my Rosewood Barlow.:)

Excellent pics, Dave. A lot of beautiful sky there! Hope you are settling in well.

Had to break this into two posts. Any edits were to try to get under the character limit.

.................Nice 'top-shot' Mark, I'll have to take one of mine :)

I shame to HAVE to say it Mark, particularly repeatedly. I very dislike the commercialisation of this sub-forum, while hearing grown men whining because they didn't get this or that knife absolutely horrifies me. I hope that, together, we can at least keep this thread non-commercial in nature

Good attitude and great work Glenn. You have done a great job of that Slater :) I'll be passing their old works tomorrow

sNA4Xjc.jpg
I look forward to your top shot, Jack! I think Wrights did a fine job of making a hand filling knife that is not too thick.
I will sure try to do my part in keeping this thread non commercial and I applaud your efforts to as well, my friend.

Jack Black Jack Black - Sorry you had to spend your time in such a way. Your comments and edited post #1 couldn’t be any clearer. Here’s to your derailed week getting back on track.

glennbad glennbad superb looking covers on your Lambsfoot.

Good Morning Guardians.

Lovely shot, Harvey! That wood looks delicious!:D

My sincere apologies Jack. I feel this is somewhat directed at myself, and justifiably so. Some of my posts certainly drift way to far off from the topic of lambsfoot knives, so I'll certainly rein myself in from now on.
Again, my apologies to yourself and everyone else for infringing the rules.

I've been under a car for most of the day (and will be again in a minute) but this little chap is being of some assistance.

Donn, I always enjoy your posts and they seem to always contain Lambsfoot content, as well as other interesting tidbits. Please don't reign it in too far. ;) I hope to keep seeing more of your great posts.

Good day, folks.

My apologies, Jack, for the frustrations you've endured at the start of your week. To me, this thread is for the Lambsfoot enthusiasts; to show off our collections, discuss the histories, and opine on the many merits of such a versatile design. Though I attempt my due diligence in keeping up with the pace of things here, it does become less interesting when one has to sift through a lot of non-Lambsfoot related content. I am active in many areas of this forum. After all, I am a knife enthusiast first and foremost, as well as an ardent Lambsfoot fan. I come here to enjoy the wonderful Lambsfoot content and connect with my fellow collectors.

I understand that my angst is my own and though I am happy that Jack has gotten us back on track, it saddens me that he found it necessary to do so. I think that traditional cutlery as a whole is only becoming more and more popular, which is a good thing in general but it brings a lot of less than savory side effects with it. Mark has touched on some of that and I share in his frustration.

That all said, like with what I try and tell anybody regarding any divisive topic, find the good in it and share in the happiness it brings you. In this particular case, Lambsfoot knives bring me a lot of happiness and they go particularly good with other things that make me happy, like coffee. :D

Thanks for the support, Dylan. Especially, thank you for the sage advice. It is easy to forget sometimes, but a quick reminder can bring it all into focus again.
"Find the good in it and share in the happiness it brings you"- simple and brilliant.:)

The whole run turned out very nice, Frailer! I have replaced one so the fellow wouldn't have to wait for a small repair, but that's it!! I asked for high quality for my first eponymous run, and was not disappointed . . . . . .not that GEC disappoints ever!! We are all fortunate with this one!!:)
Bill did you proud, Charlie! It's apparent that he thinks a lot of you and we all benefit from the strong bond you have forged together.

Nice shot, Mark! Looks like it will fill your hand nicely!:thumbsup:................

I find this Barlow mesmerizing.
Have a great day, Guardians!
Me too, Vince! :D
Hope you have a great day as well, my friend!

I've always been amazed and impressed with the overall civility and camaraderie on the "Traditional Folders" section here on BladeForums.
All of the threads including this "Guardians" site rarely stray off course and seem to self correct if needed without delay or accusations.
I'm proud to be a small part of this vast group.

Sorry, fellas. Excellent pics from all of you.
Thank you, Mark.

I was supposed to go fishing this morning... My wife and son wanted to go with me, but they drug their feet getting ready and now it's too late to hit the good fishing window. So, just sitting at home taking pictures of knives. :(

CWqO3to.jpg
There's a lot of soul to that picture Mark;):) seriously, neat idea and beautiful Ironwood:thumbsup: I was gifted a very close twin to your Ironwood from Duncan and am in the process of "letting it sit partially open" to possibly (not always successful) soften the opening pull. I feel a bit inadequate (no comment Duncan)! being able to open it but in my defense, I've busted up both thumbs before and recently injured my left again:eek: needless to say, I will make it work so the beauty will be in my rotation soon:thumbsup:
