I got some Gunny Glide that was sent to me to review from Scott Gunn and I thought I would share my finding's.
Although this oil was given to me free of charge to review I made it clear to Scott Gunn that I was going to post my findings honestly and if there were thing's I didn't like about his oil I wasn't going to hold back and that's the way he said that he wanted me to review his product.
I have tried many different oil's and lubes over the years and I have never really seen one that's any better then the other accept for Go-Juice if your looking for an oil that is really slick and it's main drawback is that it is really thin and it doesn't stay in place that long.
With Gunny Glide it contains Graphene which is supposed to be 200 times stronger then steel and is also supposed to have the best lubricity of any material known,it also contains Hexagonal Boron Nitride also act's like a lube as well.
From what Scott told me is that the Graphene and the Hexagonal Boron Nitride also burnish the metal to make is extremely smooth like a mirror polish on a knife edge.
I tried the Gunny Glide I got on a few different knives I had and I seen the most improvement on a Manix 2 in M390 that I have that also some mods done to it such as a ceramic ball and a Flytanium ball cage.
When I did the ceramic ball and Flytanium ball cage mod it made my Manix 2 even smoother for sure and I thought most likely the Gunny Glide will have little to no affect on that knife because it was already buttery smooth and I was wrong for sure.
I added 2 small drop's down each side of the blade and 2 drops on the ball itself and I opened and closed the knife for about 3 days when I was watching TV and at the end of the 3 days it got smoother yet and I find I don't have to lube my knife a lot either keeping in mind my knife's are in my pocket a lot and I don't have a really dirty job to collect a lot of dirt in my knife either.
Scott was telling me there are other lubes on the market for guns and other things that have Graphene in them but the problem is the Graphene doesn't stay suspended in them and you have to remember to shake the bottle,Scott came up with a method on his own at home to suspend the Graphene and the Boron Nitride and now has a company do it for him that use's a 1 million dollar machine to do the process for him on a larger scale.
I would recommend Gunny Glide to anyone that wants a great knife lube for flippers, with knifes that are already loose fitting such as a Benchmade Griptillian I have you won't see much improvement as that knife doesn't have really tight tolerances between the washers and the blade.
