Halloween 2 Myers's knife

Anybody see the new Halloween movie tonight? It appears Mike Myers is using a giant bowie rather than a chef's knife. It's much more fitting to use a fighting design rather than a chef's knife but I wonder if a maniac like Myers would have the capacity to realize that. I think it was a necessary switch on the director's (Rob Zombie) part because the method and force in which Michael Myers attacks with in this movie would easily snap a chefs knife in half. I was curios if anyone recognizes the knife. It looks like a custom. In some scenes it looks like there may be file work on the spine. You never really get a good look. Though you know how you can see file work from the side and it just looks like grooves and chips, well it looks like that in some shots. I found a decent screen shot of the knife although the file work, or whatever it is, Isn't visible. Anybody recognize this monster?

The Friday the 13th machete is already on sale at BudK. I think it is made by National Entertainment. I know bigger isn't always better, but a 3 foot machete. I,... Like It.

I saw the movie last night, kinda weird and a departure from the established story in some really strange ways.

He has more than one knife in the movie, the ealry hospital scene has his classic large Chef's knife, but he kills some rednecks later in the movie and I think that's where he gets the big bowie.

I do not believe the knife was a Cold Steel Laredo Bowie though, unless they have done a version with filework down the back of the blade and an unusually long handle.

The knife in the movie seemed much large than a Laredo.

Not sure what it could be then, mabe something like a Rambo knife.

I thought it was a chefs knife in the beginning too. But I think he may have been using the Bowie then too. I think our minds are so accustomed to seeing Myers with a chefs knife that when it was moving so fast our minds just saw what we were used too. Because when he kills the rednecks he has the knife already. He pulls it out of his coat or pants.

I was thinking cold steel Bowie too but it's too big, and you can't see in the link, but the movie clearly shows the handle. It's a J shaped black handle. Possibly made of micarta, G10, or dark wood. There's no pommel.

Sounds like a custom made for the movie then.

It looks very similar to an Atlanta cutlery bowie I have seen with some filework and bowtie guard. Not small, but since there are multiple prop knives in every movie I'm sure the size differs from scene to scene. Personally, I liked the old versions of his blade, the scalpel and the mondo kitchen carver is too classic!
