I'm starting to really like the Marble's cleaver, but I had to do something about that handle, so:

I filled in the gaps between the tang and the handle with epoxy...

I went to K-mart to get some of that tennis racket handle tape, but I found this product called Whatagrip. It is a handle cover that slides over the grip. The color is pretty bad, the knife now feels great. Anybody ever try these things?

Good job. Seems like this one could be the next item for everyone to modify.

I have that same grip on my racquet ball racquet and I like it a lot. The only thing that turned into a PITA was that cheap tape they give with it to hold the end down from sliding. I ended up using fabric electrical tape to hold it down.

Great mod!!!

Orange and Blue - Go Broncos (or Donkeys, depending on what sort of season they are having)

I used cushioned tennis racket tape on my Wally World Ozark Trails fixed blade special. It actually makes the knife usable.

My only concern is that the tape will interfere with the "flexible temper grooves."

I think this one is going to be the equal of the CS trailhawk as far as mods.

Myright - Yep, that tape is not the best... I think I'll slap some duct tape on it.

MBT - Those "flexible temper grooves" are smoking:D. Do they really refer to them that way?

Nice, looks like it will work fine, I really like the look of that blade for some reason, so different I think.

ell neato! I'm extremely interested in how this turns out.

Joe - I'll keep you posted. It feels great with the grip cover on it, we'll see how she holds up..

MBT - Well, based on my initial impressions, maybe we should put those temper grooves on more of our blades:D.

how about using a bicycle inner tube section. Adds grip. Can cut as necessary into ranger bands or trips for traps. Could use for fire tinder as well. Could slide a naked blade under it or snake a fire striker rod in it.
