Hi guys,

I know a few others on here are fans of the show and like me you likely noticed the fairly prominent Spyderco in the most recent episode. Appeared to be a Stainless Steel Plain Edge Police model but never having owned a Police, I couldn't be sure. I don't have any screen grabs but it was a great scene/episode that obviously took some cues from the Hannibal film, and while not a Harpy, it was still a Spydie. Very cool episode. How he carried it around Italy is another matter, pretty sure you have to have a good work-related reason for it but... very cool. ;)

Aside from being the first person on this forum to respond to my posts ( remember the Hannibal harpy question last year ? ) it is quite interesting to see that you and l think quite alike. I was just about to post this ; but you beat me to the draw. I remember the Spyderco in the season 3 episode ; Contorno. But lf my memory serves me right l do believe he uses a plain edge Spyderco Delica with a stainless steel handle . It looks too small to be a police model. In season 2 episode 12 ; you see Mason Verger's minion Carlo use an identical looking knife. I wonder if Lecter's Delica is actually Carlo's knife which he took from Carlo after feeding him to the pigs .
On a related subject ; in season 2 episode 5 ; Lecter's kidnapper was using another Spyderco ; a Byrd Flight.

Yep, very nice close-up of the Flight, just recently rewatched to see which one it was. Looks like a very hand-filling knife. I recently ordered a Crossbill, interested to see how well it does. I've never tried a hawkbill style before.

I have not heard of the Contorno, I'll have to look that one up.

I do think taking it from Carlo would be an interesting plot point, I had forgotten about Carlo's knife, even though it was more recent. The Flight somehow left more of an impression, looked very cool.

No. No. Contorno is not the name of a knife. It is the name of the most recent Hannibal episode where the Delica was used.

Im just sad the show was canceled. I do hope they find a new home. The only shows i watch that havent been axed this year are got and penny dreadful.

GoT is pretty safe, some of the highest numbers in viewership while at the same time being the most pirated show ever. ;)

I also enjoy PD. I, too, hope Hannibal continues. Glad they seem to at least be intent on running out the season.

I was watching season 3 episode 7 and now l need help identifying a knife. What was the knife that Alana gave to Hannibal to cut his restraints free ? It was taken by Alana from an Unconscious guard . The knife seemed to be some kind of assisted opener with a clip point blade. The blade had saw teeth on the spine and was hollow ground. I know that the knife was an assisted opener and not a switchblade because the blade had a thumb stud on it.

Problem is they are going to run the season as is regardless of if it gets picked up. Im kinda not even wanting to watch the last episode if they dont get a new home. I hate cliff hangers so I usually dont watch the last episode of any program till the beginning of the next season. Keeping my fingers crossed.

I was reading the Hannibal season 3 scripts today on the site Livingdeadguy.I found some pretty interesting stuff that might amuse you guys. In the episode "Contorno " ( S3E5) the knife Lecter uses is simply refered to , as a HARPY knife. In the episode , Dolce ( S3E5) the knife Will tried to use to kill Lecter is also referred to as a "HARPY blade ". It's quite interesting to note that every time the writers mention a knife by name , it is always called a " Harpy " even if the knife isn't even a spyderco. For example in the actual "Dolce " episode, Will uses a Buck 110. The season 2 script for " Tome Wan " also mentioned Carlo's knife as a Harpy knife. The ironic thing here is that , while the scripts make constant use of the word , Harpy knife , not ONE Spyferco Harpy is seen in the ENTIRE TV series itself.
Another interesting thing l found was that in the Script for " Digestivo" ( S3E5) , Lecter was originally supposed to single handedly kill 9 of Mason Verger's gun totting henchmen using a non descript " pocketknife" ( which Alana gave him ) and a " Claw hammer ". In the actual TV episode though , Chiyoh is the one who kills all of Verger's henchmen with a sniper rifle. Lecter only kills one unconscious man off screen with a claw hammer. I suppose the writers changed the scene because it would have been too unbelievable. The TV series version of Hannibal isn't exactly the best fighter . He barely won in a fight against Tobias in season 1 , narrowly won in his fight against Jack in season 2 ( he had to pretend to be unconscious , to stab Jack with a glass shard) and was completely beaten to a pulp by Jack in season 3 , even though Lecter had a knife and Jack was unarmed. There is no way he could have took down 9 armed men.

l. In season 2 episode 12 ; you see Mason Verger's minion Carlo use an Endura 4 with a hollow grind. (least what it looks like to me) I'm still looking for a Harpy with a plain edge... Model C08P or C08CFP
