Hans Karlsson carving hatchet

i have not carved with it yet, but it feels a bit more head heavy than a GB Wildlife and the handle is more shaped and curved than a GB.

I don't know how you can NOT carve with it?
It would be burning a hole in my pocket...
The GB Wildlife is .7 lbs. I think..

here are some conparison photos with my trusty GB Wildlife.

overall, i prefer the feel of the Karlsson as the handle has a nice compound curve that gives great control if you choke up on handle near head. the handle is also larger in diameter and has a more leaf like shape. the wood is ash or elm, not sure which.

i will follow up after i use the Hk over the summer.

i paint the poll red on my axes and hatchets so when people ask why i can say "so if some idiot uses it like a hammer i will know which idiot" and so far i havent had to repaint a red poll!

the HK is heavier but i have not weighed it, several ounces at least.

Great photo comparisons.......The HK looks beefier in all the right places.
I'll be looking forward to hear more about and see some stuff you carve.
Following..
Enjoy........:)
