Hey I have recently purchased a couple revolvers that the cylinders are cut for full moon clips ...

I was looking to find a hard case to carry 10 to 12 loaded moon clips securely.

TK Customs has a case but it states that it will not close if using .357 Magnum loads ... which I will be ...

does anyone have a good recommendation ? Or maybe even what size of Pelican case or similiar migh work if you don't know of a dedicated case for this purpose?

Thanks - JJ

Don't have an answer for ya but do share the love of those revolvers. I've got a Smith 610 (10 mm) with a 5"bbl that I've carried a gillion miles horseback. Love that revolver. I prefer the half moon clips over the full moon for mine. Couple of those will lay pretty flat in a shirt pocket when rambling the ranch. You looking for a range box?

I've seen you post some pictures of that and other nice revolvers ...

I love my wheel guns also ... from old single action Colts to Rugers ... and I carry a S&W 627 8 shot most of the time I'm camping or riding anywhere there are four legged predators ... and normally just one extra moon clip preloaded ...

and I use half moon clips in a Ruger GP 100 Match Champion I had cut for them for the ocassional trip in bigger bear country loaded with Buffalo Bore heavy cast ...

but a near by range owner loves revolvers too so he started a league for revolvers only ... so I was just looking for a case ... they make some nice ones for speed loaders but couldn't find anything for fullmoon clips ...

so I ordered a small Pelican case and foam to custom cut just to hold 10 loaded clips and loading tool and unloading tool ... I think it will work better anyway I can have everything there I need and just a small range bag along.

A friend found a small pelican case that held his 9mm full moon clips. I know much shorter than .357 mags.

We cut some nylon/delrin? rods on the lathe to the diameter reqd for the center hole in the clip , then epoxied 6 of them in that box spaced just right. Worked very well for him.

Get your measurement on the .357's and check the inside dimensions of the cases. Theres all sorts of cases and knock offs online.

I assume they are still available, but the Gun Guard brand plastic with waffle foam single hand gun cases would probably work. They ran like $10. It comes down to thickness or length of the rounds. But they handle revolvers quite nicely if they fit. A 38spl round fits easily with room to spare; so I suspect 357 would fit just fine. They are 12"x 8"x 3" (thick).

Yeah that's where the problem came any I found online say the lid won't close with .357 loads just .38 spl. ... why I have no clue ... but I ordered a small Pelican case and instead of making posts for them I'm going to cut foam for the clips and tools.

Then I don'thave to rearrange my big range bags I can just take my small one with everything else in it.

When I shot some steel challenge a few years back with my Smith M-627 eight shooter, I simply ran some 440 cord through my 2 dozen preloaded full moons . Then threw them in my range bag.
