I truly love knifemaking, it's an important part of my life. I'm also a private person and have always kept that to myself from people I know for the most part.
Most people that know I make knives have only heard it by word of mouth, not from me bloviating. I do enjoy my privacy. People will tell you that I'm either the biggest jerk or the nicest guy you'll ever meet. Either is fine by me.
I'm also an open book and will tell anyone anything about my process and honestly enjoy helping with whatever I can. However, when someone asks me about knifemaking, I have to give a disclaimer as politely as possible like "Look, I'm about to bore the shite out of you, so tell me how interested you are because there really is no short answer". That's because I'll tell you everything I know but would rather not waste my breath if you're not going to do anything with the information.
Another thing about me is I like to bust balls, but only in person. It's not fun on the internet because there's no risk of someone throwing fists.
With that being said, I thought I'd share the story of how Little Harry made his first knife.......
