I will get more pics later but figured this could get the ball rolling. The USA was stamped over what looks to me like the mark TG. I found the TG mark online but no good info on it. There’s one on the auction site that’s the same size/shape and has the TG mark. But no USA mark.

Also, inside the eye, 1/4 inch down on each side it has steps running front to back. I am thinking they give the wood something to bite in to when the wedge is driven in. They are1/64th -1/32 inch

I think it's most likely to be a Mann, based on this example found online, showing TG as well as

There are other online examples of TG axes, with no other stamps. Funny enough, there are also examples of axes stamped TF, including a couple also stamped NORLUND, which we know were made by Mann.

Thanks Steve! Mann would be great.

I found the pic of the red one online. Mine had no trace of red paint. It was otherwise quit similar before I smoothed out some of the roughness. I then forced the patina with vinegar, I didn’t like the bare metal look.

This is starting to feel like the letter/number stamps on the true tempers......

Deja vu?
Twilight zone?
Is this a TG or a T6:

Here is a Woodslasher with the small number letter code and no eye ridges. I have had a similiar one from the early sixties that didn't have ridges also. But I can't remember if the letter code was there.

A double-bit with TG (according to the listing):

That shiny specimen looks a lot like the one I have... just, you know, a lot shinier. It has the red in the eye, too, which mine also had some remains of. So if that one was definitely a Mann, then that answers my question about who made mine. Also, the look of the TG stamp itself on that Jersey pattern looks just like the stamp on mine. May I ask where you found those pictures?

...where you found those pictures?
Basically by doing google searches with some trial-and-error with the search terms. The photos often come from old auction listings, which end up at worthpoint dotcom. So I sometimes search the entire worthpoint site, as with this example (entered into google):
site:worthpoint.com " tg " axe
and then I go straight to the Images page to quickly pick out the applicable results.
