Have your knives been through the laundry?

I've left my Caly 3 in my pockets and it's been through the washing machine and dryer a couple times. Other than scuffing the G10, I didn't notice any other damage.

Had a Vic SAK go through just the washing machine - it fell out and banged around. After drying it out, again only scratches to the scales.

Which of your knives have survived (or been destroyed) by a washing machine? ;)

Have yet to have that happen to me, although keys and tissues happen once in awhile and let me tell you, tissue in a washing machine is a nightmare.

Its happened to me more than once. Emerson Commander and a SOG Trident have been through the wash. Probably a few others too. Not a huge deal. At least they come out all clean!

As long as its not a high carbon steel it should not be too big of a deal. Going through the dryer scares me a bit more. I can't imagine it would do a lot on a heat treat but I am not willing to find out.

My SAK went through a couple times...came out with a nice satin finish on the scales:D

Hasn't happened to me, but I've saved my delica twice so far. I guess what I'm saying is that it's only a matter of time :p

No, but I have left money in my pockets. It's always nice to find extra money out of the blue.

Couple of times. No apparent damage so far. Nice and clean. Be sure to dry well and lubricate.

I have had a lot of knives go through the laundry. Doesn't seem to hurt them. I have run a bunch of FRN scaled knives through the dishwasher and they come out fine.

Victorinox Pruning Knife has been through the wash a couple of times. Came out absolutely fine.

I recently left my brand-new Chris Reeve Small Sebenza in my pants when it went thru the wash. Like one day after I had bought it. Fortunately no damage was done; did get a bit of a stonewashed finish on the Titanium scales but I think it adds a bit of character.

My evo jr went through the wash a bunch when i first started carrying a knife. Still alive and kicking when i need a short blade for legal reasons

I only keep one knife out at a time. It's the only way I won't lose one. So, I always take my knife, wallet and phone out of my pants when I take them off.

I used to launder my two edc Vics regularly and deliberately- tied them in a clean sock with a knot between them and put them through the wash, though not the drier.
I figured that would clean the lint and grit out and I wouldn't have to have oil in my pockets.
I'm carrying older knives these days so not laundering them.

Too many to count. Worse was my BK9.... Ok, maybe not a BK9, but plenty o folders. Most stay in pocket and come out unscathed.

My Case stockman makes regular trips through the wash cycle. I'm real lazy about emptying my pockets. My wife usually finds it in the dryer, as it starts to make the loud 'bang, bang' noise.

The oddest thing I had go through the wash cycle was an HP 11C calculator. This was back in the days when HP made serious, rugged calculators. It was in one of my BDU cargo pockets (I was in the Army at the time). My wife found it before putting it in the dryer. I took the batteries out and let it dry out for about a week. Put new batteries in and it fired right up! I still have it and occasionally use it.

No knives (thank god), but a pack of gum went through once.
Nothing in the washer, but melted gum being tossed around in a dryer full of clothes.......
Bad, bad, badddddd night that was.
