Fun stuff! I look forward to see the results of today's progress! I will work on getting some of yesterday's pictures up here before long.

That is sick. I've done roofing before, If I lived close I would be happy to work just to see how you guys forge, arrange, and use your shop. Very interesting. more pics!!

There'll be more pictures. I have a bunch from yesterday, but I'm out and about right now. I set them to upload to photo bucket before I left though.

Me and Murph on another supply run. He and I got the roofing done. As much as I hate running to home depot, I welcomed this trip. I'm beat and needed a break. Johnny and Eric still bustin ass. Don't know how they do it, they are both older than me and I can hardly keep up. Can't wait to get back to making knives...... thats easy! ;)

Here are some pictures of yesterday's progress.

(Note that the ladder found something better to do.... We had to eventually get him the ladder back. He refused to just hop down off of the roof.

Murph and I dug out room for the floor joists. The E-Tool was the Murph's digging implement of choice.

John was kind enough to provide some shade for us ditch diggers.

Since this is a knife shop, Erik decided to hammer out something more appropriate from an old partially cut-out blank Todd had laying around.

Those are all the pictures I have from yesterday. I was unable to run down there again today; however, it sounds like they made a lot more progress today. I am sure that Murph will be around later to post a few more pictures.

pretty cool...

it's pretty dry there? building directly on the ground? no footers/cemenet?

now, what's going in the extra wing?

also sweet forging :D

i need to set something up like that ASAP

Thanks for the photos, Jerry!

Seeing the results of one's hard work is always satisfying.

Oh man, thanks Jerry for the pics. Awesome! My phone stays hooked up to the Pandora radio so I don't take many pics..... anyway, what a day, hell, what a weekend. I don't know where to start as far as thanks go, but know its going to be a long time to repay all the favors I cashed in the last few days, many of the people involved didn't owe me a favor in the first place so its gonna be a long road ahead. Lol. There's a lot of thanks to be passed out, it will happen hopefully accompanied by a token of my appreciation, but as we all know that takes time, but it will happen.

Today I have to admit, I was running out of gas. Murph and I roofed the new addition. At 41 years of age I forgot how fun it was toting 80lb. bundles of shingles up a 10ft. ladder. :thumbdn: but we got er done. While we was doing that, ,Johnny and Erik finished up the framing and sheeting pretty much. We have a building now anyway,.... my buddy Ralph came by yesterday to get a parts list on the electric. Gonna be next level stuff when this gets completed. I wish you all could see it firsthand. I'm too tired to go into too much detail. Back hurts, sunburned, grouchy, broke...... but i got to say, I'm feeling pretty thankful and blessed. We've kicked ass on this project. I never could of done it without all involved. Proper thanks will come, I promise!

I tired..... and achy - it's hell being old and fat.
Todd is snoring.......
Murph supplied some awesome porter (and stout, and scotch ale) this afternoon -- electrolytes = very important!
everything is framed, the doors need to be built and hung (barn style sliders), 90% of the sheathing is done -- John will be back tomorrow or Tuesday to finish the South gable end.
built 8' of workbench before stopping for dinner, did site cleanup and reground the handle on an M18 "vik" style...

dang... Todd snores loud... scared the dog....

I don't snore... its called power sleeping, and the dog is scared of her own shadow. ;) good night! Im sackin out!

Dang man sounds like a blast. My buddy just shelled out some of his tax return for knife making equipment and asked me if I would help and give guidance.... And yes he has poor judgment but at least he didn't ask gusty

that's some powerful work.

i'm older than Todd! i know what tired is like :D

which is why i'm going to get a tractor i think. not getting any younger.

I have a tractor - it doesn't help, I'm still older than Todd... and tired....

Where was the movie camera? This heart stirring saga deserves more than stills. What a great story. Good job!!
