Headhunter Rat alternatives....

So I'm curious who might know of some good alternatives....most blade lovers here probably haven't even heard of them, because they climb to fame on their martial arts "geniology" side of things rather than their merits as actual quality blades.

Long story short, the rat is a weak side defensive blade. Mostly used in a reverse grip, look up Kyle Defoor knife training on the tube and you can see it in action. They seem like nice little blades, and they are supposedly the brainchild of someone affiliated with Dan Inosanto, and that's cool buuuut......

We are talking about a small fixed blade and trainer, made from Aus- 8 with what looks to be a passable/subpar kydex sheath and belt clip, for $500. It might be just me but I think that's absurd, and I'll bet someone here knows of blades that are better for a lot less money.

On the top of my list so far I have the RMJ sparrow....anyone else have good ideas for others? Thanks!

Take a look at some of the offerings from Blackhawk's "Arrabito" line.

The Cold Steel Mini Tac Skinner, in spite of it's name, looks similar to what you're talking about.

I thought that $500 price was a typo. Nope. It is not.

Spyderco Perrin Street Beat or Reverse come to my mind first.

SOG Mini Pentagon?

As stated, Cold Steel probably has something too.

If you really want something unique, you could always reach out to a custom maker on this forum and see what happens. You could draw a design up yourself that fits your hand and pick your materials.

Oh I like those! Hadn't seen them before thanks!

I know right? The street beat was another good candidate I was looking at, thanks!
