Well...I dont have a burner and I'll hopefully have a 13" piece of 01 to temper. What can I do as far as a small fire to reach the correct temperature? Very new to this. any suggestions would be great.

The most simple arrangement I know of is a dug pit with charcoal and mama's hair dryer for a blower.

Varying light conditions will change the appearance of your colors. Use a magnet to check for proper hardening temp.

If you have a fish cooker or turkery fryer, the burner from that will get 0-1 up to heat. Put them in vise grips and strap the grips to a pole. Keep the blade moving over the flame to create an even heat and check with magnet until nice and non-magnetic. Good luck!

I've used a turkey cooker to h/t o1 and it seemed to work fine. What I'm wondering is has anyone ever used a turkey cooker burner to build a forge?

I have a gas grill and a charcoal grill. Could I use the charcoal grill to HT 01? Blade is overall 13".
