Heavy duty fixed blade EDC

Ok, I'm searching now for a fixed blade edc knife. It would be a heavy use knife that can be hidden under waist band and I would prefer a tougher steel like 3v or Elmax and handles like micarta and G10. Full tang plz. Reccomendations?

You need to find you a swamp rat knives rodent solution. I love mine for exactly that.

Esee makes some nice options. Bradford guardian series. Bark river knives. Lots of choices.

You’ve got a lot of options. I’d definitely look into customs.. a Gossman Polaris, Orion or Tusker Companion might be perfect.

3V will tolerate much more abuse than elmax - semi stainless as well. Elmax will provide better stainless properties, potentially better edge retention depending on heat treatment ( TRC knives does elmax right ).

All of the above do a good job with 3V

I wouldn’t limit myself to just 3V though - there are quite a few steels that perform great for the category of knife you are looking for.

AEB-L is tough as hell and easy to maintain - David Mary or Crag the Brewer might be a help here.

jjsmith makes incredible camp / utility fixed blades
Bill Siegle makes bullet proof fixed blades
PLackey makes heirloom quality fixed blades..

The list goes on.

I really like my Spartan Ares in S45VN. I took the belt loop off mine and carry it IWB at 4 o'clock on a piece of Paracord that allows me to stuff it pretty low. Very simple. All business.

David Mary custom flip point in AEBL or Kagitsume if you like wharncliffes. Wait time is between two to four months. Four inch blade range and 3/16” AEBL at 61 RC. Beastly and slicey.

What blade length range and expected uses ?

If you want IWB , for CC , that might limit your blade length and overall footprint . Depending on your own body size , conformation and clothing .

Also depends on your daily activity . Lots of sitting and/or in/out of vehicles vs mainly outdoors , on your feet .
