I'm looking for a new gym bag. Something made from 1000-denier Cordura, or Ballistics cloth, with a rectangular shape and exterior pockets. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I've been using an Eagle Creek bag called the Medium Cargo Gear Bag for, I think, 6-8 years. Before that I would buy those cheap bags and replace them every year. I got the Eagle Creek at a hiking store for full retail; $90-100, but I've used it as my gym bag and carry on ever since. The paint is worn off on the shoulder strap fittings and zipper pulls but other than that it's like new. The only negative with it or most high quality bags is that they are heavier than the cheapies.

You might want to do a search for Best American Duffles. I read a review several years and they were rated at or near the top.

Thanks for posting info on this company. I ordered their #4 bag. From the reviews on the site, it should last a long time.

You might try one of these from Duluth trading. I've been real happy with stuff I've gotten from Duluth, and the separate bottom compartment seems just the thing for stinky clothes or wet towels.

I see you've already ordered yours, so I'll just post this for anyone else who's interested, Kifaru duffle toughest gear I've come across. Very pricey, but lasts forever.

Try a surplus store, those military bags withstand even my sandbag training (where the bag is my gym). Cheap too.

Try Shooting Systems.........Shooting Systems.com THEY make the BEST quality in bags! Good luck!

This bag is great. Plenty of room for my gi and equipment. The inside & outside pockets are good for organizing small stuff. The only thing that I don't like about the bag is that the handles are too long...and I'm a tall guy. Someone shorter would have this bag dragging on the concrete, or pretty close to it. Maybe the smaller bags come with shorter handles. Still a very good bag overall.

Maybe the designer slings his bag over his shoulder instead of using a shoulder strap?

Taken my BAD bag around the world a couple times. 3d world airports, military cargo planes, ferry boats etc. Best bag I've ever owned. Apart from some dirt, still looks new. No rips, tears, loose sewing or zipper problems. Can't recommend it enough.
