Has anyone had the opportunity to handle Helle's latest release? The Utvaer

Looks like a nice knife, different direction for them. Following their Temagami.

Four inch blade, curly birch scales, scand grind. Full Tang strength, a bit pricey.
I have never pulled the trigger on a Helle. But I came real close on a few.
The Sigmund, Viking, Tem, and others

What think ye wise sages of knifedom?

I've been eyeballing that knife, but it just doesn't sit well with me. I dislike the protruding triangle on the butt and I think the blade is too wide. i have several Helle's, but this one I'm going to take a pass on.

I agree on the triangle tang protuberance. Looks unnatural.
The sheath looks nice, but the upper edge looks like it us unfinished.
Otherwise, I like the idea of a full tang Helle knife.
Let's see what happens when someone gets thier hands on one.

Agreed. Don't like the aesthetics of this one, particularly the handle and the weird extension off the butt. And that price puts you right in the range of a ton of great outdoor knives by a bunch of different makers.

If I wanted a full-tang Scandinavian knife, I'd probably go with an Enzo Trapper - oh wait, I already have one. :)
