Hey guys,
My father handed this down to me and I'm having difficulties identifying it. All I found so far is that its maybe a spyderco worker 1989-2001.
Any info would be really appreciated as I like to research and get all the info I can on my blades. This is the only spyderco I own so my knowledge is very limited.
Thank you!

That's the black Tufram coated aluminum version of the Worker. They came out in '93 and Spyderco stopped using G-2 as a pseudonym for GIN-1 arould '94-'95. putting yours somewhere in that date range.

Found more info. Evidently it's an early version with only 3 pins and tuff ram coated aluminum which is kinda rare?

Hah, I missed your post at first because we posted at the same time. That's excellent info, just what I was looking for, thank you very much!

Depends on how broad your definition of "rare" is. Both G-2 and GIN-1 marked versions exist, so there had to be a bare minimum of 2400 total (one run each of 1200 pieces marked each way). My guess is there were probably more than that, and that more of them were marked G-2 than GIN-1. That doesn't fit my definition of rare but, as with many things in life, YMMV.

I agree. I got that from a description on one for sale so that's their gimmick. Although of the many results that came up in the search, that was the only one like this.
I'm not sure if I'm going to hang onto it. If it is indeed rare it would be worth stashing but I just really have no use for this strange shape blade.

Slice,
I don't know about the rarity and I haven't read anything about the number of pins making it any more rare than other workers. I do know that it is Model #C01SATU and apparently this model was only made with an SE blade. Here's mine that I just purchased about a week ago.
