Help identifying this Rigid fixed blade

A friend gave me this many years ago, probably around 1994? He's passed away since then.

Anyone know what model it might be? I'm curious what the steel is, etc. Or is it too late since it was made before the Internet was invented? :)

The blade looks discolored in places along the edge. I assume that's from a clueless but eager sharpener?

440 steel I believe and model R30 seems right

No problem. I believe the vintage ones were USA made in the 60s and 70s. Im uncertain if the is a current production but I believe they moved to Japan later on. Try Flitz on the blade as the discoloration may be from being stored in the sheath. Try to store them separately.
 
Steel is 440c. Rigid was US based production till the very late 80's - early 90's, first in California, then later Arkansas. Later it was sold off to United, and it became their higher end import brand (Japan, Italy, Germany), and then it got sold off to SMKW.
