Hello blade forum, I recently purchased a mini Osborne from REI and I was wondering if any of you guys had issues with them selling you a fake knife. I also wanted to see if anyone has encountered fake Mini Osborne’s and Fake mini crooked rivers.

I don’t think REI would be selling fake items at all.
From what I’ve seen, and from what I’ve handled, they’re 100% legit.

Do you have photos from the glass case or a photo of the knife (knives) in question?

Well I mean I know they wouldn’t sell it intentionally but I worry about someone purchasing a knife and returning a fake

Now that could be a possibility I guess.
I've heard of that happening on Amazon with Spyderco.

If you can post clear photos, members here can assist I'm sure.

Crooked river looks good to me. One of the things I’ve seen to check for are the vertical grind lines on the upper part of the blade. Seems to have that in your pic

Yea that’s usually what I look for as well I just wanted feedback from others just to make sure my method is correct and accurate .

the model number reads 15080
It should read 15085, yes. Additionally, the grind is the wrong height, the butterfly is in the wrong spot, and the topmost screw visible in your video is in the wrong spot -- looks like a fake to me.
