I need black work pants, I had been using Dickies for the last couple of years but I am fed up with them. I can't ever find a pair that fits comfortably; there never seems to be enough room in the crotch or thigh area, and the pockets are too small. It really becomes a problem when I try to fit anything in my pockets. I generally try to fit my cell phone, very thin wallet, pocket gun, and a medium sized slip joint in my pockets, and that leaves zero space if I need to drop a tool or a rag in a pokcet. I also find that I am constantly adjusting my pants and pockets because there just isn't enough room.

I think the biggest problem is that the thigh/crotch area of the Dickies is too small. I am not fat, but I do lift weights and have pretty large quads. My job requires me to be fairly mobile; lots of crouching and climbing, and these pants just don't cut it.

I need pants that are black, oil and acid resistant, and loose fitting; preferably with large pockets. I don't think cargo pants are allowed.

Go to one of those huge sports stores like "Sports Authority" or "Dicks".

I recently bought some Carrhart(sp?) type work pants from Sports Authority

I recently bought some pants from Toughweld - Arborwear and Riggs which are heavy-duty brands. They do fit with a roomy crotch area. Don't know about the acid resistance however.

As mentioned, the Firehose brand of pants above I got from Duluth Trading are also very tough, hard to wear out and also have extra crotch room.
