I have 2 Gerber MKII knives that were bought in the early 70's and never used. The blades were blued. They have leather sheaths. The serial numbers are 034092 and 031189. I have lived in Sweden for the last 30 years and have seen that they sell for quite different prices on ebay. I have not been able to determine what critera are important. Some sell for $200, 500 and even 1000. I am planning on taking them to the States this summer to sell.

Is ebay the best alternative?

Are there regulations I need to be aware of while moving in Illinois and Wisconsin while having these knives in my suitcase?

I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

I can't help you with the value of these knives, but I can tell you a bit about them. They were made in 1973 and 1974, and are made from stock removed L-6. My guess would be that for one of these knives to be selling for $1000.00 it would have to have been made in 1966, the first year of production. That year there were only 8 made.

Each State has its own laws with regards to the legality of knives. In some States it is illegal to own/carry a knife with a double edge. Make sure of the laws in the States you will be visiting.

hak,

You might post in the exchange your desire to buy. You might have some luck there.
