when I was a kid, we got a leather handled estwing knife and hatchet set. I used the hatchet for limbing while helping my dad cut firewood. As is easy to do, I lost the hatchet in the leaf litter in the woods pretty quickly

. This was probably 30 years ago. I'm pretty sure we got the set around 1990 plus or minus a year or two. I still have the knife and its sheath and the sheath for the hatchet. I love how the stamps on the sheaths match. I'd like to replace the hatchet, but because I'm a little particular about some things, I'd like to get one from the correct time period. Does anyone know if there is a way to more or less date an estwing sportsmans hatchet? My sheath is stamped No. 1, but is that the model of the hatchet or the sheath? because I'm thinking that all of the hatchets are stamped 24A on the steel plate on the bottom of the handle(???). I was thinking that maybe the type of estwing sticker if still present, would help somewhat. any other information or help or suggestions?
here is the remainder of the set.

as an interesting side note. We replaced the estwing hatchet with a council tools El Lobo hatchet, which I think we also lost in the woods cutting firewood

. I still have the El Lobo hatchet sheath as well.
