Help: XM-18 Spanto with a bad sharpening job

Hi, a insta buddy of mine tried to sharpen his XM-18 Spanto with a bad ending.

I sharpen knives professionally for years but never came across something like this knife.
Because it is a Spanto the thickness behind the edge towards the tip is a lot thicker than the rest of the blade resulting in a bad geometry. The extreme sharpening made it even worse. (I don’t like spanto in general because of this)
Do you have some ideas how I can sharpen this the best way?

That looks awesome! Any idea how he did this?

Not at all, through our conversations, he did mention the size of the grinding wheel but I've forgotten since then. He did that one in 2015.
