These three knives are basically my grail knives and I’ll be purchasing one of the three shortly. I want an all around knife that can be used from edc tasks to camp chores if needed in a pinch. 90% of the time it will be used to open boxes and various mundane tasks, but I would really like it to have the capability to be used in an extreme manner if ever needed. Which of the three am I best off with? I know these designs are “fighter” type styles but can they be used in a bushcraft type fashion batoning etc? I had my heart set on the urban fudge, but the severe hollow grind kind of worries me for an all around knife not just a slicer.

I think the swedge on the grudge would chew into your baton pretty good, although I have not baton'ed with mine...I say HG55 for all around-er of the 3.

HG55 is my pick also.

I like the style of the 55.

I had to reprofile the edge & tip of my user to get it to where I wanted it.

The factory edge just wouldn't bite into wood at a shallow enough angle to suit me at first.

It batons ok on small kindling.

The Fudge is a very cool knife for what it is, but it is way too fat to be at all practical, even with the deep dish hollow grind, so I think you should rule that one out. I personally think the at the Urban Grudge has a significantly better handle than the HG55 in terms of ergos, so for that reason it's what I would choose. They will all technically handle batoning, but if that's actually something you plan to do regularly you should be looking at other knives IMO. While any of the knives you mention can handle any task you put them to, they are as you said fighters. If you want something that is better suited to most all around tasks, especially around camp, I would encourage you to check out the Dog Soldier with a 6" blade (it also comes in a 8" version if you want more blade). I realize that the Dog Soldier has a completely different look to it than the knives you mention, so that may be a factor. I'm sure you'll be happy with whatever Busse you choose.

I own all three and have carried them all horizontal in a Kydex sheath with a spyderco gclip. They all carry well for being on the bigger side of my EDC setups.

The Fudge is amazingly comfortable for being so heavy and thick. The HG55 is nice because the grip is thinner. But I think the grudge is the best all around between the three.

The new grudges look bigger than the originals

If you mean original back in the day Grudge, you are very correct. I have an old school and new school...2 completely different knives due to dimensions, ergos, etc...still hold similarities

The FUDGE on the other hand is a completely different deal.

Hog badger ? I’m sure there will be a few on the exchange whenever they are released..

HG55 is fast in the hand. Grudge is beefier. If you’re looking for a reasonably light, fast fighter, then HG55. If you want something heavy duty, go Grudge. I haven’t experienced the Fudge — no doubt a monster and probably overkill for everyday tasks.
