I was watching knife vids on YouTube last night and bhq had a quick segment about the hidden canyon and that it's on sale and is now discontinued. I am interested in this lil guy but want to hear from people who own this. Also, why do you think they are discontinuing this model?.....

I've had my eyes on it for a while, I'm going to finally pull the trigger this weekend. I think one of the weekly emails from a major dealer said they're overhauling the fixed blades in the hunt line. Maybe they're planning on releasing a new hunting line in June, around the time Blade show was supposed to be?

Here’s mine from that sale, w/Armatus sheath.... also have the G10 version but had to buy a second after hearing of the discontinuation. The leather sheath is lame, but otherwise, I just adore this fat-bellied beast of a little fixed blade.

I just ordered mine. Why didn't you like the leather sheath? It looks nice, but it does seem bulky.

I'm guessing you wear yours as a neck knife, would that kydex be easy to set up for belt carry, either with paracord or a clip of some sort?

I picked this up for my friend at blade 2 years ago and most times I see him he has it on his person. I don’t have one personally, but if you’re into fixed blades it seems a perfect size for a classy looking edc

I had one a while back...Its a comfortable knife, and good looking. Sold it because I didnt like the blade thickness. Other than that. No complaints. :)

The scout belt loop leather is too soft, after it breaks in, the knife is going to droop handle down. It’s better on the G10/kydex version though.

Armatus has an optional clip, although you have to like the single angle of the stealth holes (not sure I do). I’m mostly a neck knife guy anyway. I can use the same cord cow-hitched to my belt for AIWB carry - that works well for me too.

The knife does have thick blade stock, and is heavy, but that’s one of the things that appeals to me for some reason and sets it apart from the field - it’s like a mini survival knife that feels really substantial and good in hand.

I got my Hidden Canyon yesterday (along with a CRKT Scrub and a few new watches, it was a good day). I really like the size and the way the handle fills my hand just enough for a four finger grip with nice rounded scales. I can understand a lot of the criticism leveled at the sheath, but I haven't really used it yet, so I'm not sure how I feel. I may get a kydex sheath just to be sure though.

I just got my hidden canyon today and I really like this knife, especially for the price. I even ordered an artimus kydex sheath to replace the leather when need be. I went ahead and ordered the g10 version as well for a back up. Especially now they're discontinued...did I mention I really like this knife?..
