Looking at the XM24 Spanto 20CV , And I’ve never had the pleasure to handle one in person. So at $600 , this would be the most expensive knife This poor working Stiff has ever bought. For those of you that are lucky enough to own one , would you say that it is really worth the high dollar price tag ?

Depends on what you want. I used to own one and it didn’t work well for my use. I have a XM24 Skinny Slicer that works better for me. With that, my sweet spot for pocket knives is a +\- 3.5” blade.

I like mine.

I am waiting for an XM-18 3.5” spanto gen 6 to be released
The 24 is too big for me
I have a spanto half track that I like

I like my XM24 well enough the same money buys a Sebenza which cuts better, it’d also buy a Spartan Harsey which no one complains about.

I haven't owned or held an XM-24, but I've owned a custom XM-18 and a few production XM-18s. I've also come across the dilemma of pushing how much I'm willing to pay for a knife more times than I care to count. It's pretty clear that the XM-24 will do whatever you want out of a knife. Obviously don't get one if you're interested in lightweight slicers, but it'll cut whatever you want.

In my experience though, it's usually not about what you need, but what you like. And the feeling of worth is more about your own temperament than the knife itself, as long as it's a well made knife and meets other basic criteria that we rightly expect out of a quality knife. XMs are well made, so check that off of the list. Some questions that help me when dealing with this dilemma:

- What's my real purpose for this knife? Fidgeting while watching Netflix? Regular, prolonged cutting sessions? Using hard without worrying about the tip breaking? Self defense? Carrying a lot in the pocket only to cut open a box every once in a while?
- (if buying for using harder than opening a few boxes) Am I willing to actually use the knife if it comes down to it? (I have 2 or 3 that I won't use hard, but I'm honest with myself about it)
- If I don't like it and need to resell, am I okay with paying the price differential in order to try it out?
- Is this something I actually want and not something that scratches a very temporary itch?

I didn’t like my xm24 as much as my xm 18 3.5”

The xm24 was just a tad bit too big for EDC and I did not see any added benefits to it over the 3.5” — the usable blade Edge didn’t even seem a crazy amount bigger than the 3.5” rather the handle just seemed to be way bigger for no apparent reason.

then again I have a preference for 3.5” knives ... such as the strider SNG, it’s the sweet spot for me.. I prefer it over a SmF ... if your thing is bigger knives then I’m sure you’d be happy with the xm24!

the knife itself is fantastic but it’s mainly about what your looking for personally!!

it’s not an amazing slicer but it’s a tank of a knife and would take as much abuse you could throw at it. That said it’d still cut whatever you need it too!

I like big knives, but the XM-18 3.5” is cheaper and has plenty of handle for me.

I’m waiting for a XM-18 3.5 skinny non-flipper slicer grind. Choil or no choil at this point is fine. The wait continues.

So the 24 is not worth it for me.
