I was putting in some favorite quotations on my info page on Facebook (yes, I am an FB Junkie, so sue me :D), and I started thinking to myself "How many knife inspired sayings are there really?" Hmmmmm....

The ones I thought of already are :-

1) NEVER try to catch a falling knife! (thought of the BryFry thread about "a new way to test sharpness".... poor guy, hope he's healed up now!)

2) Don't bring a knife to a gunfight! (who would really??)

3) From the forest itself, comes the handle for the Axe. (Matisyahu lyrics to "Chop em down"... good song title!)

I see that more than a few of you guys have some pretty cool ones in your signatures...
Lemme know what else you can come up with!

A simple pocket knife can be more appealing and usable than a bristling Victorinox...

- actor Stephen Fry, in a column about the Nintendo DS of all things!

Thanks! I'm in a hard cast up to my knee, and get my stitches out next week. Then fitted for a new cast again. Hopefully I'll be able to walk with the aid of a walking cast within a couple months.

The good thing is that now I have plenty of time to waist on stuff like bladeforums, and I'm getting plenty of practice with my Benchmade and Mayhem balisongs!

...don't worry I have the blade edges taped to avoid another trip to the ER! :p

Holy $#!t!
Bro, I really feel for you! Hope everything works out OK with that Achilles cut.... I still get CHILLS when I re-read your thread!
I wish u the speediest recovery possible man! Sad thing is, it could happen to any of us in the blink of an eye!

LOL.... Smart thinking! I still have scars on my right index finger from screwin around with balisongs in my teens!

Oh, and I just thought of another one.... " a Man without a Wife, is like a Kitchen without a Knife" - Unknown

a man without a knife is a man without a life

Ha ha! that's funny.... same saying, but different versions!
I always heard my version in Trinidad, growing up...........weird...... .......but very cool!

A large man, with a small knife and a frown, is much less scary
than a small man, with a large knife and a smile.

There never was a good knife made from bad steel.

I'll cut your f***ing heart out and eat it.

This is the axe my grandfather made.
My father replaced the handle,
and I replaced the blade.
